This man Jesus gave the Samaritan woman the gift of God: acceptance, forgiveness for her sins, living water, and eternal life. She tells Jesus that she knows the Messiah is coming to make this possible and Jesus proclaims to her that she is with that Messiah in this very moment. The history goes way back. Its really the story of the man she meets there at the well: Jesus, the one who does all things well. Jesus is seeking this womans salvation, knowing everything about her.
